Privacy Policy

Traduco ("we", "our", "the app") is a keyboard translation app developed by Lumetale. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Text you translate: When you use Traduco, the text you type is sent to our servers for translation. We do not store your translated text after the response is delivered.

Device identifier: A random UUID generated on your device, stored in the iOS Keychain. Used solely for daily usage limits on the free tier. This ID is not linked to your Apple ID or personal identity.

Translation history: Your last 50 translations are stored locally on your device using iOS App Groups. This data never leaves your device.

Subscription status: Managed by RevenueCat. We store only a boolean flag (premium/free) locally. We do not have access to your payment information.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal contact information.

We do not collect your location data.

We do not collect data from other apps on your device.

We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

We do not track you across apps or websites.

3. Keyboard Extension & Full Access

Traduco requires "Allow Full Access" to send your text to our translation server. Without Full Access, the keyboard cannot make network requests and translation will not work.

With Full Access enabled, Traduco can only read the text in the current text field when you switch to the Traduco keyboard. We do not have access to anything you type in other keyboards. We do not log keystrokes, passwords, credit card numbers, or any other sensitive input.

4. How We Process Translations

Your text is sent to our server via HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Our server forwards it to OpenAI's API for translation. The translated text is returned to your device and immediately discarded from our server — we do not store it.

OpenAI does not use data submitted via its API to train or improve its models. API data is retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days solely for abuse monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted. For more details, see OpenAI's data usage policy.

5. Third-Party Services

OpenAI API: Used for translation processing. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Fly.io: Our server hosting provider. Subject to Fly.io's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

Translation text: Not retained after response delivery.

Device UUID: Stored in your device's Keychain until app deletion.

Translation history: Stored locally on your device, clearable via Settings.

7. Account Deletion

Traduco does not require account creation or login. There is no account to delete. All locally stored data (translation history, preferences) can be removed by deleting the app from your device. Since we do not store personal data on our servers, there is no server-side data to request deletion of.

8. Children's Privacy

Traduco is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Your Rights

You can clear your local translation history at any time in the app's Settings. You can delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland: Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data. Since Traduco does not collect or store personal data on our servers beyond transient translation processing, there is generally no server-side data subject to these rights. The legal basis for processing your translation text is the performance of a contract (providing the translation service you requested). If you have questions about your rights, contact us at the address below.

For users in California, USA: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. As described above, Traduco does not collect, sell, or share personal information for advertising purposes.

10. International Data Transfers

Your translation text is processed on servers located in the United States (Fly.io) and may be processed by OpenAI's servers in the United States. By using Traduco, you consent to the transfer of your translation text to the United States for processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means.
